Israel’s request to receive observer status

BUCHAREST, November 1st  --  The SECI Center management welcomed on Thursday the Ambassador of the State of Israel, H.E. Oren David. The discussions were focused on the SECI Center’s role in the region and its activities in the law enforcement filed, taking into consideration the State of Israel’s request to receive observer status.

It is natural for Israel to become a SECICenter observer because of common interest, especially on particular issues like human trafficking and security”, affirmed  H.E. Oren David.

I appreciate the level of interest of Israel and its willing to become an active observer”, said SECI Center’s Director, Mr. Mitja Mocnik. “It’s a mutual interest to develop a good cooperation because there are criminal organizations from Israel acting in South Eastern Europe, as well as crimes committed by SEE organizations which have as a final destination Israel”, added Mr. Gabriel Sotirescu, deputy director of SECI Center.

The decision regarding Israel’s request will be taken by SECI Center member countries representatives at the Joint Cooperation Committee, scheduled at the end of this month.
