Ms. Henrietta H. Fore, high representatives of the U.S. Department of State, visits the SECI Center

Bucharest, 10 October 2007 -- On the 9th October, the SECI Center received the official visit of Ms. Henrietta H. Fore, Acting Director of U.S. Foreign Assistance, Acting USAID Administrator and Under Secretary for Management with the United States Department of State. She was accompanied by Mr. Doug Menarchik, USAID, Assistant Administrator for Europe and Eurasia Bureau, Ms. Erin Nicholson, Special Assistant, Ms. Courtenay Dunn, EUR / ACE, Mr. Mark Taplin, Deputy Chief of Mission, U.S. Embassy in Bucharest and Ms. Debi Mosel, Mission Director, USAID Romania.

Mr. Mitja Mocnik, Director of the SECI Center, briefed the high level guests on the current activity and achievements of the organization, mentioning several success stories that proved once again the efficient cooperation between police and customs agencies of the SECI Center member countries. The presentation was followed by friendly discussions with the Liaison Officers.  

Ms. Fore pointed out the unique cooperation of police and customs liaison officers as being a model for a sustainable partnership not only for the member countries, but also for the Southeast European region. She congratulated the Center for the particular success obtained in the framework of Task Forces and expressed the hope for exploring greater operational activity in the future.
