Bucharest, 31 May 2007- - New Chairman and Vice Chairperson of the highest SECI Center decision making body and members of the SECI Center Management were elected on the occasion of the XXV-th Session of the Joint Cooperative Committee (JCC), which took place on 30-31 May in Bucharest.
Following the SECI Agreement and its internal rules and procedures, the designated official representatives of the twelve Member Countries has analyzed the proposed candidatures from the Member States and elected
the Chairman and the Vice Chairperson of the JCC and the Director and the Deputy Director/ Head of Operational Support Department of the SECI Center.
For the position of the
Chairman of the JCC- the highest decision making body of the SECI Center - was elected
Mr. Janos NAGY, Commissioner of the Hungarian Customs and Finance Guard. The
Vice Chairperson of the JCC was elected
Ms. Ivana JAVOR, Head of Department in the Croatian Customs Directorate.
The top management positions of the SECI Center will be assured during the next two years by
Mr. Mitja MOCNIK, from Slovenia, reelected as Director of the Centre for the second mandate and
Mr. Ion Gabriel SOTIRESCU, Deputy Director General of the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime/
General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police, elected for the position of the
Deputy Director and Head of the Operational Support Department.
On the occasion of the same XXV-th Meeting, the JCC has revised and adopted a series of documents regarding the upgrade of the SECI Center, optimize the operational activities and make more efficient the fight against organized crime in South East Europe.
