US Ambassador to Romania visited the SECI Center
The management of SECI Regional Center for Combating Transborder Crime welcomed on Monday, February 6th, the United States of America Ambassador to Romania, Mr. Nicholas F. Taubman.
Ambassador Taubman was briefed on the history, mission and the latest accomplishments of the SECI Center in fostering cooperation among the law enforcement agencies efforts to combat cross-border crime in South Eastern Europe.
The SECI Center Director, Mr. Mitja Mocnik, thanked the US Ambassador for the steadfast support provided by the United States of America for the establishment and growth of the Center, stressing the necessity of upgrading the capacity of the SECI Center and harmonizing its legal frame and working methods with the EU and international standards and best practices.
Ambassador Nicholas F. Taubman congratulated the SECI Center for its remarkable results by pointing out the important role technology plays in fighting organized crime. The US Ambassador expressed his confidence in the ability of the SECI Center to contribute to security in South East Europe as the future EU frontier, as SECI continues to move forward in combating regional security challenges through its unique nature of cooperation and transparency with regional law enforcement agencies.
